Whenever I used were linen, it was not very different from Aida and it looks prettier. The main difference is that the cloth is usually 28 count or 32 count per inch. You will usually point to two threads: this means that 1 point will cross 4 squares of fabric-2 length and 2 wide (like a large square Cross Stitch with 4 inside of it). On 28 count fabric that will change in the mesh size of a point 14 count fabric. Pearls are really easy, you need a needle embroidering beads to fit on the needle when the needle passes through them, except that is almost exactly like a cross stitch, but you put a bead on the needle when you knit. son metal, most are a pain in the neck, but the result beautiful is usually worth it.
