Do you prefer DMC or Anchor cross stitch thread?
What are your favorite thread brands and why?
I'm in the U.S. so DMC is widely available here, and less expensive than Anchor. It is also the primary color key in most all U.S. designer's patterns.
I've used DMC for 20+ years and it's colorfast, has a good sheen and is easy to work with.
Overall, I prefer DMC for all of the reasons above.
Having said that, there are many overdyeds and silks on the market now. My favorite overdyeds are Carries Creations http://www.carriesthreads.com/ and my favorite silks are Hand Dyed Fibers by Vikki Clayton. http://hand-dyedfibers.com/oscnuked/
