Help! My bobbin/needle timing on my Bernina Bernette Deco 600 is way off all of a sudden. Thank you!?

I was working on an embroidery project this morning and got one item done. When I went to remove the hoop, I could not raise the needle manually. When I finally got the hoop off and opened up the side to see the mechanism, the needle timing was so off that it was hitting the bottom of the bobbin casing and not able to make its full revolution. I adjusted it some so that it will turn the full cycle, but now it does not pick up the bobbin thread. Please help! We live a distance from the nearest repair service and I cannot really afford their $65 diagnostic fee right now thank you for your input. michelle

Are you regularly oiling your machine? Lack of oil could cause things to move out of alignment or rub. Trying blowing the machine out with canned air too. There could be lint caught inside.
