How do I attach my foot pedal to the motor on my sewing machine? ?

I just got a Juki ddl 8500 for my birthday and we had to take it apart into a million pieces to move it from the lady I bought it from. I have got everything working except I can't rememeber how to attach the foot pedal. There is a long metal rod coming from the right back corner of the pedal and another rod coming from the motor underneath the table. I have a little metal piece that I can tighten that I think connects them but I can't figure out how. Please help!

Not really sure - tried Google for you - including images - and found a site sewvacdoctor.com.... try contacting them.... otherwise can you not contact the manufacturer for an instruction manual?
