Embroidery--help with metallic threads?
When I embroider (usually cross stitch), I find if I use more than one metallic thread in the needle at a time (on Aida 14 or 18 cloth), the thread gets all twisted & eventually is unusable. I give up on it. Is there a good solution to working with metallic thread on this type of cloth? Thanks for the help!
P.S. I only do hand embroidery, not with a machine...any ideas for that circumstance?
I agree with you-it's a pain!! The only thing I can suggest is that you use a shorter length piece-12" and a larger eye needle. Let your thread dangle after you complete a stitch and hopefully it'll stay straight. The last time I was crazy enough to use it on a picture, I ended up using Japan thread (Kreinek). It's thinner and I used two strands and it looked alright for what I was working on. I don't know of any magic formula-sorry.
