I am trying to conceive, How long did it take you to conceive and were you actually trying and doing everything right? I want to get pregnant this month and my fertile day is on the 31st of this month, cant wait to try! I just had a miscarriage. =( We are ganna get a ovulation kit and try everything that the tips say. Water water water, prenatals, pillow under pelvis after sex, sex sex sex around and On ovulation days. wish me luck! we want this so bad, How long did it take you?
It took me over 3 years to conceive my first child. I was trying and doing everything that I could do right including charting my cycles, using ovulation predictor kits, not using lubrication, having sex before and after ovulation, taking prenatal vitamins, monitoring my cervical mucus, etc. After the first year with no success I went to the doctor and was put on Clomid. I had several cycles with Clomid with no success. I was referred to see an reproductive endocrinologist who told me that I was insulin resistant. The only symptom that I had was infertility. This condition is what happens before someone becomes a diabetic. Since I was consistently testing normal for diabetes, this was hard to diagnose. He also prescribed a change in meds for me which consisted of Femara, HCG shots, and an HMG shot. I was to exercise 30 minutes everyday and change my diet to a low carb, high protein diet. The very first cycle that I took my meds correctly and stuck to my diet and exercise, I conceived.
Fertilityfriend.com is a good charting resource if you are interested in monitoring your cycles more closely. Most normal couples take 6 months to a year to conceive even when they do everything correctly, so my advice to you is to enjoy the baby dancing and don't stress out too much if you don't get pregnant right away. If 6 months comes and goes then call your gynecologist and tell them you are having trouble trying to conceive. Some doctors won't treat infertility unless it has been going on for over a year unless you are over age 35. It never hurts to call and ask though.
