Applique Stitches Tearing Onesie... Why?
Hi, I'm attemping to make some applique onesies, but everything I try to sew the raw edges it tears the onesie. I'm not using a serger.. just a plain zigzag stitch on the longest length, and closes together stitches. I'm using Heat N Bond Lite (sewable) and a tear away stabilizer. I don't see whats the problem... I've ruined so many of my little guys onesies in the process and its a bit discouraging. Can someone help me!?
Btw, if all else fails.. can I just use Heat N Bond (with no sew)? Will it hold up in the washing machine? I know the package says, but any personal experience?

To avoid holes in knits, use a stretch/jersey sewing machine needle.
Also, use a layer of tear away stabilzer under the item to stabilize the stitches.
