I'm trying to buy sheets and I don't know the difference in cotton and egyptian cotton and the regular cotton.

I tend to get hot at night. So if I get really high quality thread count sheets won't they be hot and uncomforatble. But I don't want really cheap sheets either. And if I get low thread count egyptian cotton is it the same as getting high count regular cotton?
