Christian nation? The founders wanted faith to be a thread in the tapestry of the country, not wallpaper.
The only acknowledgment of religion in the original Constitution is a utilitarian. I totally agree that they have not exposed as a Christian nation, but that's what the world sees us, how ever for those of us with a pagan belief it is our nation against us and makes us come out as heretics in this nation that we live, born and where the support of our life if necessary. Our founding fathers, and those after them did not believe that this is a Christian nation, and there for those who read to much into the words written so long ago in Old English have different meanings, as they do today that these people read them.
